The Parish of Lostock Gralam lies on the outskirts of the old salt town of Northwich
in mid Cheshire and is in the Anglican Diocese of Chester.

The Parish consists of two large villages, Lostock Gralam and Wincham, and the
smaller communities of Lostock Green and Lach Dennis. Lostock Gralam was originally
a separate village on the outskirts of Northwich but is now a linked suburb.

The main Parish Church has a regular Sunday congregation of about forty people
and includes a number of infant children, a small number of junior church children
aged 6 to 11 year, and then adults ranging between mid-twenties to early nineties.
We basically have an older congregation but are seeing some newer younger people
joining us. On Sundays we have our main service at 10.30 a.m. and this is always a
Eucharistic Service where we share the bread and wine together.

On the third Sunday of each month the junior church children, who normally meet in
the Church Hall, join in for the whole service and the talk is more ‘child-
friendly.’

A Eucharistic Service also takes place every Sunday morning at 9 a.m. at All Saints’
Church, Lach Dennis, except in August. Occasionally on the third Sunday of the month the service will be Morning Prayer. There is a small but faithful congregation of up to fourteen people and new people are always welcome.

Once a month a special service is held for people with very young children: ‘Play
and Pray’ is an occasion where a Bible story is the focus for craft activities and a
short act of worship, followed by refreshments.

Our Junior Church is also an important part of our work. They meet each Sunday in
our Church Hall at Lostock Gralam and enjoy activities based on a Bible story. Sadly we have no groups
for teenagers at present but pray that as the junior church members grow that they
will become the foundations for such a group.

We have an excellent church hall, which hosts a monthly Prize Bingo evening to
attract non-church members within the community and this has been very successful
with as many as fifty people attending.

We consider ourselves to be a warm and welcoming church, a fellowship eager to
welcome new members and a church ready to meet the various needs of the people
within our communities.
